Search launched for missing Scots teen who may have travelled across country

Police have launched a search for a missing Scots teenager who may have travelled more than 200 miles across the country.

Nathan Bell, 16, was last seen in the Merkinch area of Inverness at around 9.45am on Saturday October 10.

But he has since vanished prompting a police search.

Highland cops think he may have travelled to Saltcoats, or the surrounding area, in North Ayrshire.

They have asked locals to keep an eye out for the youth and have issued a description.

He is described as around 5 ft 10 ins tall, heavy build with short brown hair and blue eyes.

When last seen, he was wearing a black jacket, black jogging bottoms and black trainers.

A police spokesman added: "We believe he may have travelled to the Saltcoats area in North Ayrshire.

"If you have seen Nathan, or have any information on his whereabouts, please contact police on 101, quoting reference number 3664 of 10 October."
