A BODY has been found after a search was launched for a missing man at a reservoir on the outskirts of Edinburgh.
Emergency services were called to a report of concern for a person in Harlaw Reservoir, Balerno, at around 4:55pm on Monday.
Police said they recovered the body of a man at around 11am following further searches of the water on Tuesday.
The force added that formal identification is yet to take place and that a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said two fire appliances, specialist resources, and firefighters helped to assist the emergency services with the search.
A coastguard helicopter was also called to help, according to local reports.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11:00 on Tuesday the body of man was recovered from the reservoir and formal identification is yet to take place.
“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
A SFRS spokesperson added: “We were alerted at 4.59pm on Monday, 25 August to an incident at the Harlaw Reservoir, Balerno, Edinburgh.
“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and specialist resources, and firefighters assisted emergency service partners at the scene.”
