Search launched after 'out of character' disappearance of Scots pensioner last seen getting off bus

A search has been launched after the 'out of character' disappearance of a Scots pensioner who was last seen getting off a bus.

Anne Gilmour has been reported missing from her home in Wishaw.

The 70-year-old was last seen at around 1.10pm today getting off a bus on Main Street in the Lanarkshire town.

She is described as a white woman, around 5ft tall, of a slightly heavy build, short blonde hair and wears glasses.

At the time she was last seen, Anne was wearing a light pink padded jacket with navy or black jeans and black shoes. She also had a beige backpack and may have been walking with a stick.

Inspector Mark Chivers, from Lanarkshire Police Division, said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned about Anne’s welfare and are appealing to the public to help trace her safe and well.

"It is out of character for Anne to go missing and we would ask anyone who has any information surrounding her whereabouts to get in contact with officers.

“I would ask if you notice anyone matching this description or have any information that could help trace Anne that you get in touch with police.

“Police can be contacted by calling 101 and quoting incident number 2842 of Thursday, 21 January, 2021.
