Search for this man after Northern Rail employee racially abused on train between Leeds and Sheffield

An image has been released of a man police would like to speak to after a Northern Rail employee was racially abused.

The incident happened shortly after 2.30pm on Saturday, March 14, as the train was travelling between Leeds and Sheffield.

British Transport Police have now released the image below in a bid to trace a man who they believe could help them with their investigation.

Anyone who was travelling on the service, which was bound for Lincoln, is being asked to come forward with information.

Officers would also like to speak to a member of the public who gave the staff member support following the incident.

"Their account would be valuable," said a spokesperson for the force.

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40. In both cases, quote reference number 360 of Saturday, March 14. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
