A body of a woman has been discovered during the search for missing Newcastle woman Janice Forster.
The 57-year-old from Chapel House was last seen leaving her home in Dulverstone Close, at around midnight.
She was then reported missing at 9.21am on Wednesday.
Searches had been taking place around Newcastle area since her disappearance.
Teams looking for Janice discovered the body of a woman in a hotel room in Newcastle on Wednesday afternoon.
Official identification has not yet taken place but her family has been contacted and are being supported by specialist officers.
Police have earlier released an picture of Janice and a CCTV image of her leaving her home in the night.
Both police officers and her family were "extremely concerned for her welfare" before the sad discovery was made.
