Missing Sunderland man Jason Knowles found 'safe and well'

Missing Sunderland man Jason Knowles has been found safe and well, police have confirmed.

Jason Knowles, 47, was last seen leaving an address in the Rotherham Road area of Hylton Red House shortly after midday on Wednesday.

He was reported missing after his family did not hear from him and police located his vehicle abandoned in the Burnside Road area of Rowlands Gill.

On Wednesday night, a spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "Missing Sunderland man Jason Knowles has been found safe and well.

"Thank you all for your support and for sharing this information."
