Missing Scots teen who may have travelled over 100 miles to Borders town found

Police are appealing for help to find a teenager reported missing from Ayrshire overnight. Charlie Crichton was last seen at around 11.30pm on Saturday, August 27, in Kilwinning but has failed to make contact since.

Officers say the 14-year-old is known to travel to the Galashiels area in the Scottish Borders but is also known to have connections to Dundee. The teen is described as being around 5ft 10in tall, of a medium build and has short brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a white North Face top, a black hooded zip up jumper, black jogging bottoms and grey/black trainers. Anyone with information about Charlie’s whereabouts are asked to contact Police Scotland.

A statement from the force said: “We are appealing for the assistance from the public in tracing reported missing person Charlie Crichton (Age 14) missing from Kilwinning.

“Charlie was last seen in Kilwinning at 11.20pm on Saturday evening 27/08/22.

“Charlie is described as 5ft10, medium build with short brown hair. Last seen wearing white North Face top, black hooded zip up top, black jogging bottoms and grey/black trainers.

Charlie is known to travel to the Galashiels area and also has connections in Dundee.

“If you have seen Charlie or have any information as to his whereabouts please contact us on 101 and quote incident number 4550 of 27/08/22.”
