A vulnerable pensioner with dementia who went missing after leaving his home to go on a walk has been found.
Durham Constabulary launched a search for Alan Mason who had not been seen for several hours.
The 83-year-old had last been seen leaving his home in Sherburn Village, County Durham at 2.20pm on Tuesday to go for a walk.
Police officers said Alan normally returns after around 30 minutes, but he had not been seen for several hours.
Just before 8.30pm on Tuesday, Durham Constabulary said Alan had been found safe and well.
Officers thanked the public for sharing the earlier appeal.
