Search for missing East Kilbride boy Ryan Coleman as family issue frantic appeal

A frantic search has been launched to trace a missing lad from East Kilbride .

Ryan Coleman has not been seen since Friday morning, sparking concerns from friends and family for his welfare.

It's believed that the family have reported the disappearance with the police who are also involved in the search.

A social media campaign has also been launched in a bid to trace the youngster, with his disappearance being described as "extremely out of character".

Posting on Facebook , Stacey McCabe wrote: "Ryan Coleman is missing.

"He's not been seen since Friday morning and his family are becoming increasingly worried.

"Please all share get Ryan home safe."

She later added: "Please keep sharing get Ryan’s face seen, the family still have no update and police are searching also.

"Family are becoming increasingly more concerned.

"This is extremely out if character for Ryan to have not been in touch with his family.

"Ryan if you see any of the posts please let someone know you are ok and get home to your mum she is worried sick."

Stacey's appeal has since been shared more than 1800 times with Missing People Scotland group also posting an appeal.

The Record have contacted Police Scotland for comment.
