Search for missing Carmyle woman Jessica McGuire takes police to River Clyde

Police have launched a re-appeal to trace a missing woman whose personal items were found near the River Clyde.

Jessica McGuire, 44, last seen between 12.05am and 1.25am on Saturday March 28 in Ardargie Drive, Carmyle.

She is described as white, 5ft 7ins in height and of slim build with short brown bobbed hair and a pale complexion.  When she was last seen she was wearing a long dark-green padded coat with a fur collar and carrying a black bag.

Officers said her personal belongings were found near River Road and they are continuing enquiries.

Inspector Bryceland of Shettleston Police Office said: "It is completely out of character for Jessica not to keep in touch with her family.  She has been feeling low lately and we are extremely concerned for her safety and wellbeing.

“Personal items belonging to her were found near River Road, Carmyle and officers assisted by the Air Support Unit and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have carried out searches at the River Clyde in this vicinity."

“As searches for Jessica continue, I would appeal to anyone who may have seen her, or who has any information regarding her whereabouts to contact Shettleston Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 0345 of 28 March.”
