Search for missing 16-year-old from Perthshire widened as police appeal for public's help

A 16-year-old boy missing from Dunkeld since last Wednesday has been found.

Local officers had shared an appeal they put out last week for information on the whereabouts of Lewis Thorpe.

The teenager had last been seen at around 8.45pm last Wednesday in the Butterstone area north east of Dunkeld.

But police confirmed the good news that he had been found on Monday evening.

A statement said: "Police Scotland can confirm that 16-year-old Lewis Thorpe, who had been reported missing from Dunkeld, has been traced safe and well.

"We'd like to thank the public for their assistance."
