Most parents will relate to the stress of having a crying child wanting your attention while you're trying to do your weekly shop.
But one mum was left in tears for a different reason at an Asda store - when a mystery stranger stepped in to help and paid for her entire bill.
The mum has since posted on Facebook to find the man responsible for the remarkable act of kindness, saying she had been struggling all day with her teething four-month-old.
Her baby was strapped to her when she got to the checkout and then couldn't find her bank card, reports the Echo.
The drama unfolded in the Birkenhead branch on Tuesday, February 25 and afterwards the mum posted: "Thank you so much to the lovely Steve who paid for my whole grocery shop in Birkenhead Asda yesterday afternoon.
"I had my four month old teething baby strapped to me (who had only just settled after crying most of the day) and I was so flustered and stressed as I couldn't find my bank card.
"Managed to get the card and wrapping paper for my little girls birthday today too thanks to him.
"His kindness had me in tears. Also a big thank you to the lovely Claire on the till who was so kind and patient with me."
Dozens of people have also now commented on the kind gesture and praised the man for helping.
One woman said: "I don’t know you Steve but thanks for helping this lady out. True gentleman.
"We appreciate people like yourself in this world. Very kind of you."
Another said: "What a beautiful thing for the man to do."
A third person added: "So nice of him. So there is still a few lovely people left in this world."
