The search for a teenager who went missing in floodwaters north of Brisbane two weeks ago will be scaled back after extensive efforts failed to find her.
Krystal Cain, 14, was swept away in the early hours of January 8 near Booubyjan, about three hours north of the Queensland capital.
She became separated from her father after their car was submerged in floodwaters as ex-cyclone Seth dumped more than half a metre of rain on the Wide Bay-Burnett region.
There has been a thorough search for the Victorian teenager over the past 13 days, involving police divers and officers on horseback as well as drones and all terrain vehicles.
"Human Remains Detection Dogs and specialised search officers have also joined the search this week and drones will be continued to be used within the 10km radius where she was last seen," Queensland police said in a statement on Friday.
"Krystal was a compassionate, bright and bubbly girl who loved art and English at school. She was a fantastic sketcher and had a love of music."
A GoFundMe page set up by Krystal's family has so far raised almost $9000.
"She was swept away in a torrent of water whilst travelling to Agnes Water to see her grandparents," the page says, describing her as a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and friend.
Bauple farmer Steve Bottcher, 52, and a 22-year-old Sunshine Coast man died in the floods, and it's estimated the recovery will take several years.
