Photos of large footprints found in Phoenix Park have sparked a hunt for the "Bigfoot" Dublin monster.
A concerned citizen sent these photos to Dublin Live, in response to the "Bigfoot" footprints seen in Palmerstown.
The images show deep, dark imprints on the grass, with marks similar to claws on in the mud.
The puzzling pictures were taken on January 20 and the woman who spotted the mysterious prints told Dublin Live she'd never seen anything like them before.
She said: "We walked to the Pope's Cross and on return back to the car we noticed a very large and strange animal footprint.
"At first we thought it was a joke but as we continued to walk further on there was footprints for about 1/4 of a mile.
"This made us think that maybe this wasn't a joke. My friend got down and measured his hand to the print and it was quite bigger than my friend's hand. We always go on walks here and never seen these type animal footprints before."
The Irish Bigfoot Research Organisation said "We are not aware of any activity inside Dublin, but there has been activity in the surrounding areas. Especially in the Wicklow Mountains. Most reports come in from further north."
It is currently unknown if these footprints have any relation to mysterious marks spotted in fresh cement in Palmerstown recently.
Given the lack of sightings in Dublin, the Bigfoot Organisation doubts that one is in Phoenix Park.
They said: "Clearly kids mucking about or maybe you have a T-rex."
A photo sent in by the organisation shows the size of the Bigfoots they deal with outside Dublin.
A Phoenix Park guide was sceptical about the photos, saying "I think someone is exaggerating.
"All I can say is, when people come to Phoenix Park they should not take anything from the park, and should not leave anything except footprints. They should not litter.”
Given the lack of sightings of the Dublin monster, it appears Bigfoot is adhering to Phoenix Park litter standards.
