Sean Winter will be back in the East Kilbride squad this weekend after he was punished for storming off in their Scottish Cup defeat to BSC Glasgow.
The winger was fined two weeks' wages by the club last week and suspended from the squad for Saturday's 2-0 win away to Berwick Rangers, for leaving the cup match at K-Park early and heading home.
It was the second time this season the 32-year-old let his frustrations get the better of him this season. In August he also made a swift exit when Stuart Malcolm substituted him after 26 minutes during EK’s 3-1 league defeat to Caledonian Braves.
The club decided to take action, but a line has now been drawn under the matter and Winter will be free to play when Gala Fairydean Rovers visit K-Park on Saturday in the Lowland League.
Kilby caretaker boss Jim Paterson said: "I spoke to Sean and explained that the club looks for him to lead by example and this is the second time it has happened this season, so he took his punishment on the chin.
"Football is an emotional sport, but I'd rather he came and kicked my door down and spoke to me about things than the way he reacted.
"He's been fined and he was made aware he wouldn't be involved in the squad for the Berwick game.
"Since then he's been first class. He showed a great attitude to go and play in the reserves on Monday night and he's worked really hard in training this week.
"We've drawn a line under it now and he is in contention for Saturday."
