Sean Shelby’s Shoes: What’s next for Joanna Jedrzejczyk after UFC on ESPN+ 19 win?

(ALSO SEE: Sean Shelby’s Shoes: What’s next for Michelle Waterson after UFC on ESPN+ 19 loss?)

Joanna Jedrzejczyk picked up her first strawweight win in 15 months on Saturday, when she decisively defeated Michelle Waterson in the UFC on ESPN+ 19 main event.

Jedrzejczyk (16-3 MMA, 10-3 UFC), the former longtime UFC champion, sent out a stern reminder that she is still a top player at 115 pounds when she got the better of Waterson (17-7 MMA, 5-3 UFC) over the course of five rounds to take a unanimous decision in the headlining contest, which took place at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., and streamed on ESPN+.

Immediately after the big win, Jedrzejczyk began a push to fight recently crowned strawweight champ Weili Zhang (20-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC) – once the foot injury the former champ sustained in the contest heals, of course.

Should she get the opportunity, though? Watch the video above for thoughts and analysis on what the future should hold for Jedrzejczyk.
