Sean Shelby’s Shoes: What’s next for Jack Hermansson after UFC on ESPN+ 18 loss?

(ALSO SEE: Sean Shelby’s Shoes: What’s next for and UFC on ESPN+ 18’s key winners?)

Jack Hermansson’s run up the UFC middleweight rankings took a tumble on Saturday when he fell short to Jared Cannonier in the UFC on ESPN+ 18 main event.

In a fight that was seemingly meant to spotlight Hermansson (20-5 MMA, 7-3 UFC) and give him the opportunity to shine, things turned sour when Cannonier (13-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) scored a second-round TKO win at Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Coming into the event, Hermansson had won four-straight and was seemingly right on the cusp of breaking through as a true title contender. The setback occurred, though, and “The Joker” was nothing but graceful in defeat.

But what does the loss mean for Hermansson moving forward? Watch the video above for thoughts and analysis on his future.
