Sean Shelby’s Shoes: What’s next for Dominick Reyes, Katlyn Chookagian after UFC 247 losses?

The UFC put on its first two title fights of the year on Saturday at UFC 247, and the outcomes could not have been more different.

Dominick Reyes (12-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) went into Toyota Center in Houston and nearly pulled off an all-time moment when he pushed UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones (26-1 MMA, 20-1 UFC) to the brink over the course of five rounds, but ultimately came out on the wrong end of a unanimous decision.

But it wasn’t the same story for Katlyn Chookagian (13-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC). The challenger for the UFC women’s flyweight title was thoroughly beaten by champion Valentina Shevchenko (19-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC) en route to a third-round TKO loss in her long-awaited title opportunity.

Such high-profile fights automatically beckon discussion about the future and what should be next. For insight and analysis on what the future should hold for Reyes and Chookagian after their title-fight losses, watch the video above.
