Sean O'Brien could miss out on final Leinster goodbye with hip injury

Hard decisions were being made this week at Leinster HQ, with the season now already over for many of the province's playing staff.

Leinster have fielded 57 players this term but only 23 can make the matchday squad, with a couple of extras brought along to Glasgow as cover.

Devin Toner is now among those already ruled out while Sean O'Brien could miss a final goodbye before his London Irish move due to a hip issue.

"We always try to field what we think could be the best team for Leinster," said assistant coach Felipe Contepomi.

"Every player is involved and has the mentality to do the best for the club, whatever position they have to be.

"When you have this bunch of players and they work so hard, they train and when you have backroom staff of S&Cs and physios who put players in good shape to play, as coaches we have to make tough decisions.

"Sometimes you can see it as unfair or unlucky or whatever you call it, but those are decisions we have to make and unfortunately only 15 play and another eight players go on the bench.

"Many others will be in suits on Saturday and many of them could deserve to be in the starting line-up of that game".
