Sean Murray has left Dundalk to join Irish League side Glentoran but David McMillan has agreed a contract extension with the Lilywhites.
Midfielder Murray, 28, joined Dundalk in 2019 and won the league title in his first season before scooping the FAI Cup the following year.
He made 89 appearances for the border club in that time but was also dogged by nagging injuries.
Murray, who lives in Belfast, was heavily linked to a Glens move over the weekend and completed the switch last night.
And the former Watford man and Ireland Under-21 international, will lend a vital hand to the club’s title push.
Glentoran are third in the NIFL Premiership after 18 games, but only two points off leaders Cliftonville ahead of tomorrow’s game away to Coleraine.
But club stalwart McMillan is staying with the club, now under the management of his former team-mate Stephen O’Donnell.
A three-time title winner at Oriel Park, McMillan said: “Last season was very unsettling but there is a renewed optimism around the place.
“To get contracts done and signed is a relief for a lot of players and to know that the future is sorted, with new owners who are local and know the club inside out.”
McMillan added: “The players that have signed know what it takes to win trophies and be successful here.
“They have a connection with the fans and they know what is expected of them. The management team have done well to nail them down and hopefully, we can build.”
