Sean McVay earns high praise in NFL coach rankings

When factoring age and recent success, it’s difficult to find a better coach in the NFL than Sean McVay. The 33-year-old is coming off a 13-3 season in which he led the Rams to the Super Bowl and already has a Coach of the Year award on his resume.

Even without factoring age and experience, McVay is up there as one of the best in the league. Sporting News recently ranked every NFL coach and McVay received some seriously high praise with where he was put on the list.

McVay checked in at No. 2 with only Bill Belichick higher than him.

McVay already has a coaching tree in the NFL after just two seasons as a head coach. The 33-year-old is at the center of the youth movement in the sport. Los Angeles ranked second in the NFL with 32.9 points per game last season. McVay took his medicine to Belichick in the Super Bowl. Now we’ll see what he learned.

Last year, McVay ranked 12th on Sporting News’ list, so he’s up 10 spots from 2018. That’s what happens when you reach the Super Bowl and win your second straight division title. The Rams had high expectations heading into last season, but the hype surrounding them now is even greater.

The pressure is on for McVay and the entire Rams team to make a deep playoff run again next season.
