Sean Lennon is asking Twitter users to stop sending him the lyrics to “Imagine”, pointing out he’s already ”vaguely familiar” with the tune.
The musician, who’s the 44-year-old son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, made the request on social media on Thursday.
“Although delightful, please know it is not absolutely necessary to quote the lyrics of Imagine to me as a response to each and every tweet I make,” he tweeted.
“It may come as a shock to you but I am vaguely familiar with both the music AND the lyrics of this tune. Thank you.”
As it turns out, he’s not the only Lennon sibling facing this particular issue.
Julian Lennon, the 56-year-old son of John Lennon and his first wife Cynthia Lennon, wrote in response: ”I believe I said something very similar the other day!”
Kelly Carlin, the daughter of comedian George Carlin, is dealing with the same plight too.
“Brother Sean, you KNOW I feel your pain,” she tweeted.
