Sean Dyche asked if he would take Scotland job after Steve Clarke exit

Sean Dyche was asked if he would be open to replacing Steve Clarke as Scotland manager.

The former Burnley and Everton boss has been out of work since his short stint with Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

Speaking with talkSPORT presenter Adam Catterall, the Englishman was discussing Clarke's time as the national head coach and his side's performances at the World Cup where they were eliminated at the group stage again.

After one victory from three, Clarke opted to stand down from his role and issued a heartfelt message to the Tartan Army following his decision.

And that immediately saw heads turn towards which manager may be next for the hotseat at Hampden. Dyche, meanwhile, had also been talking with Catterall regarding dealing with the media as a manager and issues with how pre and post-match press conferences are contextualised at times.

So when Catterall asked if he would take the Scotland job, Dyche had a tongue-in-cheek response. "Oh see there you go, look! Clickbait! Dyche says..." he joked.

"I've got ginger hair, I drink Irn Bru and I love haggis so that means I'm Scottish. And I like a beer. Vitamin T."

Dyche has managed more than 580 matches at the highest level with four clubs in the EFL Championship and Premier League. He has more than 200 wins from throughout his career.
