Sean Cavanagh slates 'most disorganised Tyrone team' he's seen in his lifetime

Red Hand legend Sean Cavanagh says he 'can't believe what has happened to Tyrone in such a short space of time'.

Tyrone are facing a serious battle to avoid relegation from Division One after they slumped to another heavy defeat on Saturday in Castlebar.

After a bright start, Brian Dooher and Feargal Logan's team shipped four goals in a 10-point League loss.

It's been quite a fall from grace for the 2021 All-Ireland champions who endured a nightmare season in 2022 and Cavanagh is very concerned by what he has seen.

"They had a disastrous Championship last year but, in the county, the players and management were largely given a free pass," Cavanagh stated in his column for the Irish Daily Star.

"I thought players would go back to their clubs and then come back reenergised for this season. No sign of that so far.

"I do not remember ever seeing a Tyrone team so disorganised and unstructured in defence. That isn’t Tyrone. That isn’t the way we are as a county.

"Even when we weren’t going well, we always prided ourselves on being hard to beat but, in most games now, that isn’t the case.

"Tyrone are easy to beat. I’m not sure when Tyrone have looked so unimpressive. Maybe a couple of years in the 1990s.

"I look at the players available and it’s hard to figure out what is going on. Tyrone shouldn’t have slipped so far, so fast. It’s simply not good enough."
