Seamus Coleman donation helps Irish comedian's incredible charity cycle raise €60,000

Seamus Coleman's generous donation has helped an Irish comedian's incredible charity cycle raise over €60,000 - blowing away its initial goal.

Galway comedian and Everton fan Stevo Timothy took on the mammoth challenge of cycling 5 km on Saturday - despite being partially paralysed.

Timothy suffered a spinal injury in 2005, which meant he'd require a wheelchair and crutches to walk for the rest of his life, but incredibly took on the cycle in aid of the Irish Wheelchair Association.

Famous for his 'Farmer Michael' persona, the social media star was sent well wishes from names like Tyson Fury, Paul McGrath, Sean Kelly and Coleman himself in the build-up.

And setting early goals of of hitting €5k and 10k, it soon gathered pace as the total raised topped €50k around the time of the cycle.

Timothy completed the cycle, his first time ever attempting a long distance bike ride since his injury, and soon targeted €60k for the IWA.

And the Toffees and Ireland ace stepped in to get the bid over the line, donating the remaining €1,757 this evening to get the amount raised past the goal.

Taking to Twitter, the comedian thanked Coleman for the generous pledge: "Lads Seamus Coleman just contacted me and told me he has donated the rest of the money to bring me up to the 60 grand!! Ah lads the man is an absolute gentleman."
