Seahawks waive cornerback Davante Davis off injured reserve

The Seattle Seahawks waived undrafted free agent defensive back Davante Davis off the injured reserve, making him a free agent capable of signing with any team.

There is no word if an injury settlement was reached between the two sides prior to him getting waived.

Davis was signed as a free agent and participated in Seattle’s rookie minicamp back in May after going undrafted in the 2019 NFL draft.

He had an accomplished career at the University of Texas, but concerns about his agility had many scouts projecting a career as a safety instead of at corner, where he played in college.

Davis was waived/injured last Wednesday to make room for running back Xavier Turner, who led the Seahawks in rushing attempts in their preseason opener against the Broncos on Thursday.

Now, Davis will need to find a way to impress another team in the next two weeks if he wants to make a 53-man roster this season.
