Seahawks up to No. 13 in Touchdown Wire’s pre-camp power rankings

The Seahawks convened training camp last week, however, the players have yet to actually begin practicing on the field. With a virtual offseason this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, most teams will have some catching up to due this summer and Seattle is no different.

The Seahawks selected linebacker Jordyn Brooks in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft as well as some other positions of need on both sides of the ball. For their efforts this spring, Mark Schofield of Touchdown Wire bumped the Seahawks up one spot in his latest NFL power rankings to No. 13.

“Brooks is likely an immediate fit given how often the Seahawks implement three-linebacker sets, and could be the future heart of the defense,” Schofield writes. “Yet, this draft seems underwhelming in the moment. Having Russell Wilson sure helps ease that feeling, however.”

“What also helps? Jamal Adams,” Schofield continues. “The dynamic safety was acquired by the Seahawks recently in a trade with the New York Jets, and while the organization paid a heavy price, Adams is worth it for a team looking to win a Super Bowl now.”

The Seahawks return to camp on Monday for week 2 which will begin with another round of COVID-19 testing.
