The Seahawks defense still has a lot of work to do and injuries are piling up like laundry in a college dorm. However, Seattle got the job done at home against the Panthers on Sunday, taking down Carolina 37-27. After a stunning loss at home in Week 1 to the Rams and an overtime shootout with the Lions last week, winning by 10 points is a comfortable margin and reassuring about this team’s outlook for the season.

Perhaps the most reassuring thing about it was the impact that the crowd made on the game – as the Panthers offense committed eight false start penalties. It’s been years since the building was that loud and if it continues it will help re-establish this team’s lost dominance at home.
