The Seattle Seahawks barely wrapped up their annual 12 Tour around Washington state before hitting the road once again.
This week, the crew embarked on a three-day trip to Alaska as part of the NFL’s “Huddle for 100” initiative, which encourages fans, players and teams to donate 100 minutes of their time to help shape the community.
Organized by the Seahawks’ community engagement department to make an impact outside of the Pacific Northwest, safety Tedric Thompson was accompanied by team staff, Blitz the mascot and Legend Orlando Huff on the Alaskan adventure.
After a bocce ball game in Ketchikan with the Special Olympics Unified teams, the group headed out to the Metlakatla Indian Community to meet with the Tlingit & Haida tribes.
Next up came the United Way & Sea Hawker Booster Dinner & Auction in Anchorage followed by a Play60 event in Wasilla, where 600 kids participated in drills and other activities aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The final day on the road was spent visiting patients at local children’s hospitals.
