Seahawks trade with Patriots to select receiver D.K. Metcalf at No. 64

The Seattle Seahawks traded up with the New England Patriots in the second round to acquire pick No. 64, which they used on Mississippi wide receiver D.K. Metcalf.

Seattle traded third-round pick No. 77 and fourth-round pick No. 118 in order to acquire No. 64 used on Metcalf.

Seattle was known to be in the market for a big-bodied receiver, and at six-foot-three and 238 pounds – with a 4.33 time in the 40-yard dash – Metcalf certainly grades out as a Pete Carroll-style receiver.

With Doug Baldwin recovering from a trio of offseason surgeries, it made sense for Seattle to target a receiver early in the draft. And now, with the final pick in the second round, the Seahawks get a receiver that many had projected in the mid-first.

Following the trade, Seattle now has six picks remaining. Keep up with all the Seahawks’ moves and upcoming picks using our Draft Tracker.

Seattle’s remaining selections:

Round 3, No. 92 overall

Round 4, No. 114 overall

Round 4, No. 124 overall

Round 4, No. 132 overall

Round 5, No. 142 overall

Round 5, No. 159 overall
