Seahawks to meet with TCU defensive end LJ Collier

The Seattle Seahawks have met with a majority of the defensive ends that are expected to be available in the late first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, a good sign that they are hoping to use their first pick to shore up a position of need.

The latest meeting is with Texas Christian University defensive end LJ Collier, who just spent time with the Lions and is headed to visit the Eagles before making the trip out to the Emerald City to visit with the Seahawks, according to a report by NFL Insider Ian Rapoport.

Of course, Seattle and Collier were connected earlier in the offseason when he reported that Seattle had asked him how long he could keep his eyes open while questioning him at the combine.

Seattle could use a 4-3 defensive end with Collier’s size and ruggedness, as well as his surprising ability to get to the quarterback – something Seattle needs more of next season.

He is projected as a late-first or early-second round pick, which could make him a target for Seattle if they end up trading down from No. 21 overall to acquire more picks, as expected.
