Seahawks to host former Patriots tackle Ulrick John on Friday

The Seattle Seahawks aren’t finished tightening up the offensive line. After re-signing guard D.J. Fluker and adding former Cardinals guard, Mike Iupati to the lineup, Seattle is now scheduled to host a tackle on a free-agent visit.

Former Patriots offensive tackle Ulrick John will be meeting with the Seahawks on Friday, per Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson.

John was originally selected by the Colts in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL draft out of Georgia State. He spent time with the Dolphins, Cardinals and Packers before he was signed to New England last season, where he spent the year on the injured reserve.

Mostly a practice squad player, John has only logged three starts in 10 games over his career.

Seattle could be looking for inexpensive depth options to add competition to the roster this offseason, and John, if healthy, could provide a veteran presence. Regardless, the Seahawks continue their due diligence, vetting out any available free agents.
