Seahawks TE Will Dissly to undergo season-ending Achilles surgery

Seattle Seahawks tight Will Dissly’s second season has now come to a close. After suffering a torn Achilles Week 6 in Cleveland, Dissly is scheduled to undergo surgery and is expected to be out for the remainder of the year.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was the first to tweet the news, which has now been confirmed by various other sources.

Dissly’s rookie campaign ended in a similar fashion after a patellar tendon injury Week 4 against the Cardinals. Working all offseason to recover, Dissly was off to a banner start in 2019 and making his case for Comeback Player of the Year.

Instead, the young tight end will now have surgery to repair the torn Achilles and begin the rehab process all over again.

With Dissly gone, the Seahawks have only two tight ends on the active roster, Luke Willson and Jacob Hollister. Seattle did add Tyrone Swoopes to the practice squad Tuesday to add depth at the position.
