Seahawks sign wide receiver Penny Hart to practice squad

Following the big trade with the Detroit Lions to acquire Quandre Diggs, the Seattle Seahawks signed wide receiver Penny Hart to their practice squad. Last week, the Seahawks cut receiver Terry Wright, opening up a spot for Hart.

Hart was one of several receivers the Seahawks worked out on Tuesday, and he apparently beat out former fourth round pick J’Mon Moore and former Tampa Bay receiver Bobo Wilson for his spot.

Hart went undrafted this past year, eventually signing with the Colts. The 23-year-old Georgia State product passed through waivers and was placed on the injured reserve with a hamstring injury back in September, though he was reported as practicing in some capacity in late August.

The 5-foot-8 receiver made a name for himself during the Senior Bowl. He showed quickness and the ability to work outside thanks to his long arms, traits that are certainly appealing to coach Pete Carroll and company.
