Seahawks sign LB Chris Worley, waive WR Nyqwan Murray

The Seattle Seahawks made another roster move on Tuesday, signing former Bengals linebacker Chris Worley. In order to make room on the 90-man roster, the team waived wide receiver Nyqwan Murray.

Worley starred at Ohio State for two years, earning All-Big Ten honorable mention honors as a senior. He went undrafted in 2018, eventually catching on with the Bengals practice squad and appearing in two games and recording two tackles down the stretch.

He appeared as a tryout player for the Seahawks at rookie minicamp back in May.

With Mychal Kendricks, Cody Barton, Justin Currie and Bobby Wagner all sitting out on Monday, the Seahawks ended up using fullback Nick Bellore as a linebacker during practice.

While Bellore has experience as a linebacker, the Seahawks evidently felt they’d rather have more depth at that spot heading into the preseason, at the expense of Murray – the team’s latest addition at the receiver spot.

With Kendricks, Wagner and K.J. Wright expected to form one of the strongest linebacker groups in the league, and with a ton of depth behind them, Worley’s chances of making the 53-man roster are slim.
