Seahawks sign Chad Wheeler off practice squad, elevate Ray-Ray Armstrong

The Seattle Seahawks announced a couple of roster moves Saturday afternoon ahead of their Week 14 matchup against the New York Jets.

Although starting right tackle Brandon Shell is expected to play Sunday, the Seahawks added some security against the Jets. Seattle has signed offensive tackle Chad Wheeler off the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

Wheeler appeared in last week’s contest when Jamarco Jones, starting at right tackle with both Shell and Cedric Ogbuehi out, left matchup himself with a groin injury.

With Jones ruled out against New York and Ogbuehi questionable, Wheeler adds some insurance behind starter Shell.

In addition, Seattle has elevated linebacker Ray-Ray Armstrong from the practice squad to provide depth on special teams with both running back Travis Homer and safety Ryan Neal battling injuries.

The Seahawks and Jets are scheduled to kick off Sunday at 1:05 p.m. PT. how. Here’s everything you need to know to catch all the action.
