Seahawks sign 9 exclusive rights free agents

The Seattle Seahawks had a busy Monday continuing negotiations on a contract extension with quarterback Russell Wilson and starting Phase One of the offseason workout program. But the team wasn’t finished just yet.

The Seahawks also signed nine of their exclusive rights free agents, per the NFL’s official transactions: linebackers Austin Calitro and Emmanuel Ellerbee, center Joey Hunt, defensive end Branden Jackson, safety Shalom Luani, wide receiver J. D. McKissic, long snapper Tyler Ott, defensive back Kalan Reed and guard Jordan Simmons.

Wide receiver David Moore, the only exclusive rights free agent who did not appear on the transaction report is expected to sign his tender April 16, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Seattle also inked restricted free agents tackle George Fant and defensive end Quinton Jefferson and released linebacker Emmanuel Beal.

The Seahawks will continue Phase One of the offseason workouts – which are limited to strength and conditioning and physical rehabilitation only – for the next two weeks.
