Seahawks sign 3 veteran free agents to roster

The Seattle Seahawks announced the signing of three veteran free agents Thursday afternoon, complementing the roster as the team heads deeper into the offseason workout program.

First reported Thursday morning, the Seahawks have now confirmed the addition of cornerback Jamar Taylor. Taylor was originally selected in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft by the Dolphins out of Boise State.

Taylor will likely compete with fourth-round draft pick, Ugo Amadi, for time at nickelback, a position of need in Seattle since losing Justin Coleman to the Lions in free agency.

The Seahawks also added two offensive players to the roster – fullback Nick Bellore and guard Marcus Martin.

A linebacker in college, Bellore transitioned to fullback while with Detroit and is now Seattle’s lone fullback on the squad.

While Martin spent last season on the injured reserve, if healthy, he will bring depth to the Seahawks offensive line.

Seattle has yet to officially confirm the signing of defensive Ziggy Ansah, after agreeing to terms on a one-year deal Wednesday evening.
