The University of Oregon Ducks held their Pro Day on Thursday with 31 of the 32 NFL teams, including the Seattle Seahawks, in attendance.
There are multiple Ducks that could attract attention from the Seahawks, including wide receiver Dillon Mitchell, defensive tackle Jalen Jelks, defensive back Ugo Amadi and linebacker Justin Hollins – all who were invited to the NFL combine.
The Seahawks likely engaged with each of these four players, and maybe even a handful of others, but one player they seemed keen on was Hollins.
Hollins is a potential NFL edge defender who was seen doing drills, with a Seahawks staffer nearby, in a post on his instagram account.
Hollins is listed at six-foot-five and 248 pounds, which makes his 4.5 time in the 40-yard dash all the more impressive. He has the tools to be an edge defender in a 4-3 scheme, and his size and speed are traits that coach Pete Carroll has always craved.
Hollins is not expected to be a high draft pick, with most scouts seeing him as a sixth or seventh rounder. Seattle would have to acquire picks in those rounds, or use their fifth round pick on him, if they wanted to bring Hollins into camp to compete for a job.
Still, another Jacob Martin type player could be a nice piece for Carroll and company, particularly with the potential release of edge defender Barkevious Mingo.
