Seahawks select Liberty QB Malik Willis in Round 1 of this mock draft

The 2022 NFL draft is just a little over a week away and Seattle Seahawks fans are getting antsy waiting to see what their team will do with its first-round pick. Currently set to select at No. 9 overall, Seattle has a number of options to consider: trade up, trade down or pick as planned.

Some mock drafts have the Seahawks actually trading up this year to snag a top-tier quarterback, but this recent one from Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports, predicts Seattle will stay put to select a quarterback – Liberty’s Malik Willis.

“We’ve been upfront about Willis: we have a second-round grade on him based on his body of work in college, but that doesn’t mean teams looking for a quarterback won’t take one a round or so before they should,” Wilson writes. “Willis had a great week at the Senior Bowl and he then interviewed well in Indy.

“He’s built like Russell Wilson but obviously in much rawer form,” Wilson continues. “It appears Drew Lock is the starter (for now) in Seattle, which means Willis can learn by watching. He has the physical tools to be the best passer in this class, all he needs is experience.”

As of now, the Seahawks have three quarterbacks on the roster: Geno Smith, Drew and Jacob Eason. Will that change next Thursday night when the first round of the draft kicks off at 5:00 p.m. PT?
