Seahawks select guard Phil Haynes with pick No. 124 in NFL Draft

The Seattle Seahawks selected their first offensive lineman of the 2019 NFL draft, using pick No. 124 in the fourth round to snag Wake Forest guard Phil Haynes.

Haynes was a four-year starter at Wake Forest, starting at right tackle and right guard before transitioning to left guard later in his collegiate career.

Haynes is a powerful run-blocker, with scouts expecting he could be a starting NFL guard in a year or two.

Seattle appears to be locked in at the guard spot at the moment, with D.J. Fluker and free agent signee Mike Iupati penciled in as the starters.

However, the team was lacking depth at that position and now adds an intriguing, versatile piece to their offensive front.

After the pick, Seattle now has four selections remaining in the NFL draft:

Round 4, Pick No. 132 overall

Round 5, Pick No. 142 overall

Round 6, Pick No. 204 overall

Round 6, Pick No. 209 overall
