Seahawks select DeMarcus Christmas at No. 209 in 2019 NFL draft

The Seattle Seahawks used their 10th and final selection of the 2019 NFL draft to shore up a big position of need, nabbing Florida State defensive tackle DeMarcus Christmas.

Seattle went defensive end in the first round, opting for pass rushing L.J. Collier out of TCU.

In Christmas, Seattle gets an interior defensive tackle who will compete for Shamar Stephen’s old spot after the veteran re-signed with Minnesota this offseason.

Christmas possesses great size and power, but displayed inconsistencies as a run-defender and doesn’t project to factor into the pass-rush mix.

Still, an interior defensive lineman was perhaps the Seahawks’ biggest position of need after their nine picks, so it’s not surprising to see them snag a player who gives them added depth up front.

Barring a trade of a player or a 2020 pick, Seattle has made its final selection of the 2019 NFL draft.
