Seahawks select defensive back in CBS Sports 2020 mock draft

The Seattle Seahawks’ 2019 draft class has yet to take a snap in an NFL game and analysts are already predicting the selections for next year.

Seattle managed to snag 11 players in April, six of those on the defensive side of the ball.

CBS Sports has the Seahawks staying on trend, picking defensive back CJ Henderson out of Florida at No. 22 overall.

“Along with 2018 fifth-rounder Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Henderson was the best player in Florida’s secondary in 2018,” writes Chris Trapasso in his mock draft. “He has good size and plus athleticism to play on the outside in the pros.

Henderson played all 13 games for the Gators in 2018, racking up 38 tackles – five of those for loss – three sacks and two interceptions. He also led the team with seven pass breakups and two forced fumbles.

While it’s clearly too early for a serious look at the 2020 draft, it’s worth noting it could take a number of years for Seattle to completely restock the Legion of Boom.
