Seahawks see big future with wide receiver DK Metcalf

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf has already made a name for himself his rookie season. His freak athleticism adds yet another weapon to quarterback Russell Wilson’s arsenal.

Even with the maturity Metcalf has shown on and off the field, there is still room for him to grow. He is by no means a finished product.

“Just keep catching that rock man,” coach Pete Carroll said Thursday. “Just keep going. He’ll clean things up in a number of ways, but we love what he’s doing and how he’s contributing. Wish he could get the ball more because he’s so capable.”

With the addition of Josh Gordon to the receiving corps, getting Metcalf the ball potentially just got a lot harder . . . which is a good problem to have for Wilson and the Seahawks coaching staff.

Then again, with the skill set Metcalf possesses, the ways he could be utilized are endless.

“The crossing routes that he caught, the deep balls we’ve seen him catch,” Carroll continued. “Getting down the field and making plays under duress and all that. There are no restrictions on his game at all. We’ve just got to keep going.”

Metcalf will have a huge opportunity to prove his versatility Monday night when the Seahawks hope to dethrone the unbeaten 49ers.
