Seahawks rookie DK Metcalf throws out 1st pitch at Mariners game

Seahawks second-round draft pick, D.K. Metcalf, threw out the first pitch Thursday night prior to the Seattle Mariners facing off against the Baltimore Orioles at T-Mobile Park.

But Metcalf wasn’t alone at the stadium, as he was joined by 19 other Seahawks rookies for the big night.

Metcalf got busy warming up before taking the mound, hoping to throw a 95mph strike right down the middle.

“I was throwing good before y’all came over here,” Metcalf told his teammates. “I swear I was!”

“Welcome to the crew, the whole Seattle crew!” Mariners outfielder Mallex Smith said after he caught Metcalf’s pitch right over the plate and signed his commemorative baseball. “I wish I had something for you to sign!”

The Mariners ended up beating the Orioles 5-2 Thursday night and perhaps Metcalf and his crew are to thank for the win.

Metcalf and the rest of the Seahawks rookies continue their summer break before training camp kicks off July 25.
