Seahawks QB Russell Wilson’s ‘plan’ is to win Super Bowls for Seattle

The Seattle Seahawks and quarterback Russell Wilson have just one more game on the books this season, and for Wilson, there is always a chance it could be his last in a Seahawks uniform.

Stories swirled last offseason with talks of a Wilson trade to another team and the chatter is already starting to ramp up this year as well – especially following such a disappointing campaign in 2021.

Wilson was asked directly on Thursday exactly why he hasn’t put any trade rumors definitively to rest yet. The quarterback, who remains under contract with Seattle for two more years, addressed the issue in terms of his no-trade clause first.

“Well I think first of all, when it comes to notrade clauses in sports, the main reason is so that teams can’t trade somebody to anywhere, that’s the number one reason, right?” Wilson stated. “In sports, you can wake up the next day and you’re gone, somewhere else, that’s the number one reason. Going back to your main question though, you know for me, what I’m really super passionate about, obviously my goal is to win more Super Bowls and my plan is to win them here.

“It is that simple, so there is nothing else really other than that.”

For now, Wilson is just focused on the season finale in Arizona on Sunday and whether or not his future “plan” will keep him in Seattle remains to be seen.
