Seahawks projected to have 6 starters who earned PFF grade over 80

Despite losing a lot of talent over the last two seasons, the Seattle Seahawks still managed to put together a 10-6 record and a playoff appearance in 2018 – thanks in part to a healthy mix of veterans and young, up-and-coming stars.

Now, even after losing Doug Baldwin to retirement, the Seahawks will head into 2019 with six returning starters who earned a grade of 80 or higher from Pro Football Focus last season.

Quarterback Russell Wilson, running back Chris Carson, receiver Tyler Lockett and left tackle Duane Brown are the four offensive representatives, while defensive tackle Poona Ford and linebacker Bobby Wagner round things out on the defensive end.

Six players with grades over 80 is a very solid number for a franchise that many felt would take a step backward last season. That doesn’t even include Jarran Reed, who recorded 10 sacks as an interior defensive lineman, or K.J. Wright, who was hurt most of the season but has posted grades over 80 in year’s past.

Those eight players will be joined by a plethora of young talent eager to find their way onto this list in 2019, including tight end Will Dissly, safety Bradley McDougald and rookie receiver D.K. Metcalf.

Assuming Seattle’s veterans continue to perform at elite levels, this team should find their way into double-digit wins once again next season.
