Seahawks player most likely to get cut following the 2019 NFL draft

An article from ESPN’s Bill Barnwell detailed one player from each team who could get cut following the NFL draft, and running back C.J. Prosise was selected from the Seattle Seahawks.

Prosise was once a promising third-down back, but a series of injuries has limited him to just 16 NFL games over the last three years. He’s carried the ball 42 times for 192 yards and one rushing touchdown, while also hauling in 26 receptions for 317 yards.

Prosise played sparingly last season — sometimes because of injuries and sometimes not — while the team went with Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny, Mike Davis and J.D. McKissic in the backfield.

When Davis left in free agency, there was a glimmer of hope for Prosise — a hope that may have been shattered by Seattle’s decision to select running back Travis Homer in the sixth round. Homer is a physical runner, but he excels in pass protection, which could allow him to take over the role that Davis held last year.

That puts Prosise on the outside looking in, with McKissic and even Bo Scarbrough competing for spots as well.

Unless he has a very strong, healthy training camp, Prosise could be looking for another job come September.
