Seahawks place Lano Hill on PUP and Caleb Scott on NFI list

The Seattle Seahawks made a few roster tweaks the day before the start of training camp. The team signed defensive tackle Earl Mitchell and wide receiver Daniel Williams, cutting running back Marcelias Sutton and cornerback Derrek Thomas to make room.

Additionally, the team also placed safety Lano Hill on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, while also placing receiver Caleb Scott on the non-football injury (NFI) list.

Hill is entering his third NFL season. He got a little run as the team’s starting free safety toward the end of last year, but ended up finishing the season on the injured reserve after injuring his hip during the final game of the regular season.

He didn’t participate during OTA’s or minicamp, and it appears his injury will linger into training camp.

Scott injured his foot during an offseason workout and will begin training camp on the NFI list. The 23-year-old out of Vanderbilt spent most of last season on the practice squad and has yet to appear in an NFL game.

The PUP list does not include Ezekiel Ansah or Will Dissly, a good sign the two projected starters will be participating at least in some capacity when training camp kicks off on Thursday, July 25.
