Seahawks off the hook as Antonio Brown agrees to deal with Buccaneers

Some in Seattle can now breathe a sigh of relief. Free-agent wide receiver Antonio Brown has finalized his one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the conclusion of his eight-week suspension looming.

Numerous reports, as well as Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, had suggested Seattle could have been a potential fit for the embattled wide receiver.

However, the Buccaneers have suffered injuries to key wideouts Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, so they certainly needed someone to come in and be a reliable target for Tom Brady, who Brown played with for one game as a Patriot in 2019.

So, despite Wilson’s controversial efforts to recruit Brown to the Emerald City, Tampa Bay has scooped the veteran receiver up. Not that it matters much for the Seahawks, who have plenty of targets for their star quarterback and seem to be enjoying a drama-free locker room this season.
